Livigno is a town located in the Alta Valtellina on a plateau at the foot of the Rhaetian Alps from which it is surrounded. It has a very small village, and should be visited at least once. If you rely on the Livigno transfer service it will be much easier to reach this corner of paradise. Here’s what to see and what to do.
What to do
Obviously being an Alpine city, Livigno is very famous as a winter ski resort. There are many excellent tourist facilities, and excellent snow conditions (its height almost always guarantees snow throughout its season without resorting to artificial snow)
In addition, the ski slopes are innumerable and very close to the town, you can almost reach the various hotels with skis on!
The Livigno ski complex is called Carosello 3000 (given by the maximum height reached) open all year, can be reached by cable car, from which you then have a sublime view of Livigno and the entire valley below.
It is also very interesting to go up there in Summer, where trekking paths are organized, and the Bike Park and the Mountain Park for bicycles with real routes to do. cost friendly places to visit in Spain.
The best thing to do, especially for women, is shopping. And do you know why? Because Livigno enjoys the status of a duty free area, and is therefore exempt from some taxes, such as VAT.
This status has favored tourism development since the end of the 1950s when the Foscagno Pass was finally opened in winter.
In fact, before then, Livigno was completely devoid of any means of communication with the rest of the world for the entire winter, from the first autumn snowfalls to the melting of snow in spring.
With the free zone many tourists have begun to arrive in the city attracted by the affordable prices of tobacco, sugar, perfumes, alcohol but above all fuel!
The best would be to go there during the sales period, so as to do some great deals, and bring home the best of the best
On a tourist level, there is not much to see here, that is, there are no monuments or sites of high historical interest!
However, you can enjoy the walk along the small town, admiring the typical alpine mountain hut buildings, which in summer are chock full of colorful flowers that fill balconies and vases everywhere.
